When it was founded by Leo Shull in 1941, Show Business introduced the concept of the casting notice.

Audition information was difficult to come by at the time, and our founder wanted to make show business jobs more accessible to everyday actors. As New York's original casting weekly, Show Business maintains the same tradition of insider information, criticism, and job notices it first embraced when it began publishing seventy years ago.

Show Business continues to be the go-to industry resource for young actors, singers and dancers in search of legit casting and audition notices, as well as vital, career-building information and services. We publish the best and most useful content available for those looking to break into the business.
