Awesome Alliteration: The Magical Musical
BetaMale Productions is seeking ACTORS AND ACTRESSES for our hilarious and original comedy musical entitled, “Awesome Alliteration: The Magical Musical.” This musical takes a look at a small town in which a failed novelist turned mayor bans all literary devices.
We are looking for actors/actresses who are between the ages of 18 – 65. This musical will require you to act, sing, and have a good sense of comedic timing.
Rehearsals will run through the month of August. The show opens on Friday, September 7th, 2012 as part of the Philly Fringe Festival, and will run through Sunday, September 30th, 2012 at The SkyBox @ the Adrienne.
CAST BREAKDOWN:
Melvin Miller – The town’s mayor-turned-superintendent who has a lot of ideas for how to run a successful town. THIS ROLE IS ALREADY CAST.
Gary Soos – A cocksure young English teacher who comes to town with a lot of radical ideas and leads the students to a better way of life. 20s. Tenor.
Martha Goose – The science teacher who believes in the town’s ban on figures of speech and has a hard time communicating with Gary. 20s. Soprano.
Peter Paulmary – Melvin’s faithful sidekick. A campaign manager turned school principal who has a hard time learning educational jargon. 30s-40s. Bari-Tenor.
Jerome – The school janitor who may have a secret past life as a famous novelist. 50s. Baritone.
Megan Cole – Melvin’s fiancé who struggles reading his intensely wordy love letter. This role doubles as Gracie and Gracie’s mother. 20s. Mezzo.
Billy Bildungsroman – A very special student. Doubles as Billy’s father. 20s. Baritone.
Timmy – A jock. Doubles as Timmy’s dad. 20s. Tenor.
Julie – A cheerleader. Doubles as Julie’s mom. 20s. Soprano.
Rosie – A very quiet student who’s hiding a wailing gospel voice. Doubles as Rosie’s mom. Belting Mezzo.

Into The Woods - Seeking Submissions
Westchester Sandbox Theatre
The Westchester Sandbox Theatre (Mamaroneck, NY) will be holding auditions for its upcoming mainstage production of Into The Woods (Dir. Daniel Ferrante). Auditions will be held BY APPOINTMENT ONLY on Wednesday May 30 from 7pm to 10pm at the Westchester Sandbox Theatre, 931c East Boston Post Road in Mamaroneck, NY AND on Thursday May 31 from 10am-2pm at Pearl Studios, 500 8th Avenue, 4th floor, #405, NYC.
Rehearsals begin Saturday June 30. Rehearsals will take place in NYC and at the theater.
Performances run July 14-August 14. MUST be available for daytime morning/afternoon performances as well as some weekend performances. Full schedule will be available at auditions.
Pay is a small stipend plus travel.

We are an Los Angeles Based production company planning on shooting a low budget feature in upstate New York. The location is in Schoharie County, 40 miles west of Albany, just a short train ride from Manhattan. If two weeks on a farm working with horses, dogs, goats, pigs, donkeys, and chickens as well as some talented film makers appeals to you , we encourage you to submit.

Jessica is an attractive woman in her early to mid-twenties who is more comfortable with her horses than the people close to her. Please Note!!! This role will require a substantial amount of horseback riding. Please be a very experienced rider if you plan to submit. We will be quizzing you on your equine skills. You will also interact with a wide variety of other farm animals, so once again, please be comfortable working with animals.

Nicole is Jessica's younger sister who was raised in NYC. She is a little bitter, lost, and jaded. As much as she claims to dislike farm life, she appears adapt quickly. This role requires substantial amount of horseback riding. Please be a very experienced with horses. also, you will be working with a variety of farm animals , so please be comfortable around animals. A good singing voice would be an added bonus.
Martin - 20 - 30

Martin is a boarder at the stable. He comes from a wealth family but prefers to live a much simpler life in a rural community. He dropped out of business school to study animal husbandry. This role also requires a substantial amount of horseback riding. Please be very a very skilled rider!!! Also, love the animals!!
